MASC LOGO CONTEST

The Montana Association of Student Councils is 57 years old, and the only copy of the original logo for the organization is indecipherable. Last spring, the MASC Executive Board decided to move forward with the development of a new logo for MASC. They think it is time to brand our organization with the creation of a new logo. This is where you come in! The Executive Board invites you help in this process by designing a logo for MASC. Logo designs must be submitted electronically to Jane Suberg at by October 18 in order to be considered at the state conference.

A logo should tell someone who may never have heard of our organization something about the Montana Association of Student Councils. It should be strong enough to convey a message and a feeling in an instant. It is the sum total of our members’ experiences and perceptions. If a logo looks professional, it may be the reason that someone decides to check out the organization for the first time. In addition, it is important to consider MASC’s target audience when designing a logo to make sure that it appeals to and speaks to high school and middle school student leaders.

MESSAGE FROM MASC EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Welcome back to what I hope is an exceptional school year for all student leaders and advisors across the state. I love the return to school when everyone is energized and focused for a new year. You truly have the power to make the 2011-2012 school year the best year ever! Harness the leader within you and begin to take action today to make a positive difference in your schools and communities.

My name is Jane Suberg and I am currently the Assistant Principal and Student Council Advisor at Highwood High School. I am honored to have the opportunity to serve student council members and advisors across Montana as the MASC Executive Director. After a year as the MASC Executive Director, I must admit that time really does fly. I’m happy to report that several of the MASC Executive Board’s short term goals were met over the past year and progress is being made toward achieving several others. (See the link to the Board minutes on the OTHER INFO page of this website.) I’d like to say our organization is a work-in-progress. Sometimes it takes baby steps to accomplish the goals we set for ourselves. There are many opportunities for growth in MASC, and I invite you to be a partner in that growth. Please contact me at any time with ideas, questions, or concerns. I am willing to serve you in any way that I can. I hope to meet many of you and look forward to hearing from you. Thanks for your support as we continue this leadership journey together.
